So this year I have the pleasure of modelling for Wella Trend Vision, representing the fabulous James Bushell Salon in Birmingham!
Bright and early on Monday morning I headed over to the salon to meet with the lovely Alex, the stylist behind my look for the competition. I was talked through the look for the shoot, which was to take place the following day, and we set to work on my transformation in preperation for styling!
This was actually the first time I've ever dyed my hair so it was extremely exciting for me! The underneath as well as chunks through my hair and on the ends were lightened and then dyed a bright copper, as well as small flicks of colour added through my fringe. The style planned for the shoot would be mainly braids so the colour was strategically placed to sit along the various plaits and twists accordingly.
Having such light hair is completely new for me but I definitely like it and decided to keep it after shooting. The fact the dye is in what look like pretty random sections is probably my favourite part of the look. Something that's always put me off dying my hair is trying to manage the upkeep of forever bleaching my dark roots or having to buy dye to keep the colour topped up but I think this'll grow through and fade quite nicely as not all of the sections have been dyed completely to the root and it's quite a natural colour!
Currently I'm loving wearing my hair in a messy bun as it really shows off the bright colour underneath awesomely and I love the contrast between the orange and my naturally dark hair, we'll just see how long I keep it for now as it's definitely encouraged me to play with colour on my hair more in future now!
A behind-the-scenes look at the shoot is coming next so stay tuned!
